Being Present In My Current Community

Blogging is a dream I’ve had for a while. I’ve had bumps in the road, but it’s all been worth it.

However, throughout the years, I’ve had to rewrite some of my thinking. I used to think that I couldn’t produce and put out what I thought would be my greatest and most popular content until I had a ton of followers and email subscribers.

I felt that I had to wait so that I could reach a ton of people. Though this mindset stemmed from a heart of wanting to help as many people as I could, it wasn’t the right way to go about it.

Value the People You Have Now

It’s not about having the most followers. I had to realize that not putting my best foot forward wasn’t going to work. Putting my heart into everything was how to get followers in the first place. Filler content doesn’t cut it.

This mindset never came from thinking Oh, I have to have the most followers and subscribers. I truly wanted to share the love of God with as many people as possible.

But I learned that whether I had 1, 10, 100, or 1,000 followers and subscribers, I need to value the people that I have now. They are the ones supporting me and they are the ones I have been able to help and be open with. And they are the ones who will support any future endeavors I do, who will give me feedback and who tell others about what helped them.

This truth goes outside of the virtual world as well.

I don’t need to wait until I have a ton of friends to do something big and epic. Quality truly is way more valuable than quantity. Different seasons in my life might bring different friends, but the true friendships will last a lifetime.

Growth will happen over time, and in order to grow, I need to cultivate that growth.

Value the people who are in your corner today.
