My Adventure So Far: This Blog’s Original Intention
FIRST STARTING OUT
When I first started this blog, I had originally intended for every blog post to start with “My Adventure So Far.”
Back then, I thought I was going to view every instance in my life as an adventure. I thought my life would be full of stories I could tell, each one starting with “My Adventure So Far.”
I wanted to encourage others to think of the moments in their life, whether big or small, as an adventure, as part of their grand story.
But that’s not what happened.
I didn’t do that.
The adventure that is my life has not looked at all what I had planned or thought it would be. I let fear, doubt, worry, procrastination and overwhelm stop me from living in and appreciating every moment.
There have been so many ups and downs this year that have all led me to where I am now. And it’s nothing like how I imagined it would be.
I FORGOT
I forgot that every moment was still important. I’ve been stuck in the same mundace loop of life and forgot to cherish the little things. Like the fact that the sun was shining today, or that I got to tell my family members that I love them or that I got home safely, or that I have Godly friends who always encourage and uplift me. Or that God is always speaking to me or the simple fact that God loves me. Many people don’t get to experience these simple things.
I miss this.
I miss writing. I miss documenting the different moments in my life. I miss working on something I have a passion for. I miss thinking of life as an adventure with God.
ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE
It’s important to remember, life is always an adventure, especially when you are doing it with Christ. No matter how big or small those adventures seem, everything that happens in your life is part of your journey and the adventure you are on.
And even if you sometimes forget to cherish the small things, or even if you forget to include God into your adventures, it’s never too late to get back on track. It’s never too late to pause and take a moment to thank God for all the things He has done in your life.
BOAST IN CHRIST
And no, this is not so I can boast in or about myself. In the Bible, especially in the Old Testament, the people of God always created some sort of monument to remember what God had done in their life. I want to create those in my life as well so that I always remind myself that God is working in my life, and to be a testimony to others.
My boast is in Christ.
“That, as it is written, ‘He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.’” 1 Corinthians 1:31 NKJV
Or as it says in the ESV version of this verse:
“So that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.’”
GOD IS STILL WORKING
I’m reminding myself that even if my life looks nothing like I thought it would be, life is still an adventure.
